A canopy is the decorative cover located up at the ceiling where a lighting fixture connects to the electrical outlet. Not only does it cover the unsightly wiring and associated connections, but it provides a final cap to the look of the entire fixture. All of the items ordered may be installed as is but consider painting them! You may want to match the ceiling color, bring in a complementary color to the room or cover it in a faux finish or fabric - the choice is up to you.
